Karpathos
Karpathos, the second largest island in the Dodecanese (after Rhodes). It has an area 301.2 sq. km., 160 km of coastline and a total population of 6511 inhabitants. It is a rich habitat and therefore have protected areas where people survive to extinction. Going vacation in Karpathos is like doing a "time travel". Karpathos, majestic mountains and is located in the Carpathian Sea, between Crete and Rhodes is the capital of Karpathos Wells.
It is an island with very strong traditions which keep people - so this is probably one of the few islands where they no longer feel the hospitality of Greece as it was 50 years ago! The city of the island is bustling with many cafes, bakeries and restaurants.
They deserve a visit from 18 basilicas of the island such as St. Anastasia in Arkasa or Holy Light in the town of Karpathos and the ruins of the ancient city of Vrykous north of the island and the ruins of Arkesia Paleokastro of Arkasa, and Castle and the ancient citadel of Aperi.
